Stormy Piece

I'm having huge success churning out artwork for the Dan Varner gallery, while only casually focusing on it. It is giving me a good excuse to play with various lighting settings and contexts.

My most recent one is this, a heavy stormy day.

I'm planning on a Cretaceous version of this photo by Stefano Unterthiner (which I absolutely adore... going to buy a print of it in the near future).

That is an incredible image. Makes you appreciate what penguins must consider the daily grind.

This photo has stuck with me since I saw it in an exhibition in Melbourne. Absolutely incredible.

As for the Penguins apparently they were simply cautious, as Orcas typically leave them alone in favour of seals. Penguins are all bones in comparison. So this was just a very amazing causal encounter rather than hunt.

I love the scale involved. That Orca's dorsal fin is 6 feet tall!
